As this outdated publication below plays an important  rôle in the
discussion concerning for which Asetemachbjt the tent was made.
we are publishing the full text below.  The author, Emile Brugsch,
whose catastrophic emptying of the cachette in 1881 ranks with the
worst plunderings of the 19th century, was badly informed
regarding the relationships within the family of the Upper Egyptian
dynasty of the High Priests of Amun founded by the HPA  Pay-anch
in ca. 1070 BCE  on the fall of the 20th (Ramesside) Dynasty. Thus,
through the serious mistakes and speculations in this publication,
he created an erroronious understanding which has been
propagated throughout the egyptological literature up to the time
of this writing.

We would be most grateful for any photographic material which
visitors to this site might be able to make available to us.

Comments

Brugsch made no
notes; all excavation   data
were lost.

chosen for fast excavation/
workers at that time had no
experience in cutting tombs

Nesychonsu's death was
unexpected.

Brugsch unrolled the tent in
the hot, dry sunlight

condition when found

The top may have been
exposed to the sun in
antiquity.

Masaharta's name and title
only; no relationship stated

Paynedjem I as King
Chacheperraw is called
Pinotem II by Brugsch

There is no evidence as to
which Asetemachbjt the
gazelle belonged

This form  would certainly
not have been used for/by
Asetemachbjt "D", wife of
HPA Pinodjem II

Maspero's genealogy is
also incorrect.
Asetemachbjt "B" to whom
the tent belonged was
indeed the daughter of HPA
Masaharta, but not the wife
of HPA Menkheperre. This
author does not believe that
all of the offerings
mentioned here were
meant for Asetemacbjt "D",
wife of HPA Paynedjem II.
These  matters are also
considered elswhere  on
this site:
