This is a new, open-end CESRAS project which will take some years to complete. While studying our photographs of Theban D21a painted artifacts we shall cut out interesting versions of hieroglyphs and post them here. Some of these will be clear with a good resolution and some will be of poor quality as they are generally tiny cutouts from larger photos made under terrible conditions of often badly damaged objects. The images will be linked to their respective source texts and artifacts.
We are including everything which is, or contains a sign that can be read as such, including the personifications of signs and symbols (ex.: Udjat with wings) and aniconic deities (ex.: Djed with arms). Composite signs (ex.: Djed-Anch-Was) not listed by Gardiner are shown under the numbers of each component.
Should you have images of hieroglyphs from D21a, we would be most grateful if you would send us a copy to admin@cesras.org. You will be given full credit and meta-tags in the Internet.
