| Neskhons' father, Smendes II, was the elder brother of Pinodjem II. Neskhons was Pinodjem's favorite wife for whom the tomb TT320 which was later to become the Cachette of the Royal Mummies, was created. Besides Neskhons, Pinodjem II was a primary burial there. At some time after the burial of Pinodjem II, the remains and some of the funerary equipment of other members of the HPA family and of earlier rulers, royals and courtiers were reburied in TT320. For our history of the Cachette it is significant to note that Neskhons' parents are not included in this group. The parents of Pinodjem II, Menkheperre and Isetemkhebjt C, were also not found there; in fact none of these have ever been found. In reconstructing the history of the tomb, it is important to consider which family members were absent and why they were neither buried nor found there. You will find a discussion of this and other facts pertaining to the history of TT320 on the pages referring to the tomb (click on position at above right). EL 05.02.06 |
