Mummy of Ahmose I Neb-pehti-re, ca. 1550-1525 BCE, first king of the 18th Dynasty, son of
17th Dynasty Theban King (Ta-o ?) Seqenenre "The Hero" who fell in battle with the Hyksos
and their allies. Dates in this period are unquestionably insecure. Please note the quality of
the photographs made 100 years ago. Even individual hairs can be seen. I feel that the digital
transformation to sepia colouring has added depth to the old photos while helping to convey
the understanding that the images depicted here were real, living men and women.
