Both of these names are very
common in this period,
something like Mary or Jane
today. This has lead to a great
deal of confusion. They also
have a number of spellings
and transscriptions which adds
to the confusion.
Ramses XI was the last of his
name, dynasty and the New
Kingdom.There was no
Ramses XIII. The HPA and self
proclaimed "King"Herihor in
Thebes died during the reign
of Ramses XI and was
succeeded by the HPA Piankh,
founder of the 21a Theban
Dynasty of the HPAs (1070-945
BCE)
